It was the summer before Emma Phineas Wilkey, who everybody calls Ferris, was about to start fifth grade. It was the summer her grandmother Charisse saw the ghost. It was also the summer that her sister Pinky wanted to be an outlaw, and her Uncle Ted left her aunt and moved into the basement to paint the history of the world. How will Ferris be able to deal with the ghost, her sister, and her uncle sending her to spy on her aunt all at the same time?
